Bitcoin-route check

What are you sending from Cash App?

On-chain, Lightning, cash, other assets, mixed networks and stale destinations keep separate evidence states.

Cash App BTC → Coinbase BTC address

Method-compatible; live checks required

Use the current Coinbase Bitcoin address with Cash App's on-chain route.

Cash App documents external Bitcoin sends and Coinbase documents Bitcoin receives. Select Bitcoin on Coinbase, select the Bitcoin network, copy the newly displayed address, then paste or scan it in Cash App. The Cash App account, withdrawable Bitcoin, minimum, speed, fee, address, review and Coinbase confirmation state must all pass. This is method compatibility, not a native account connection or guaranteed credit.

Exact scope
United States; eligible Cash App Bitcoin balance sent to the same customer's or a disclosed recipient's eligible Coinbase Bitcoin deposit address.
Evidence state
Both providers explicitly document Bitcoin transfer methods, while exact account-pair approval and processing remain conditional.
Safe next step
Generate a current Coinbase Bitcoin address, compare its beginning and end after pasting, select an on-chain speed, review the final fee and send a small eligible test first.

The exact route

Compatible methods still require one exact destination.

Cash App documents sending eligible Bitcoin to an external wallet. Coinbase documents receiving Bitcoin to an address generated for the Bitcoin network. Together they establish a conditional route, not an integration. Neither provider promises that every customer, amount, location, address or transfer will be approved.

The on-chain destination comes from Coinbase's Receive flow after choosing Bitcoin and the Bitcoin network. Cash App must recognize it as an on-chain Bitcoin address. The sender then chooses an available speed, reviews the amount and fee, and approves an irreversible transaction. Coinbase waits for network confirmations and any account review before final credit.

Copy from Coinbase; never type a crypto destination.

Malware, clipboard replacement and impersonation can alter an address. Compare the first and last characters after paste, verify the recipient through a separate trusted channel and use a small eligible test before a material transfer.

Lightning is not a faster setting for the same address. Coinbase requires an invoice generated for the amount, valid for seventy-two hours, and says it supports invoices rather than Lightning addresses. Cash App must recognize that invoice as Lightning. Location exclusions and live availability still apply.

Safe sequence

Generate the receiving instruction first.

The Coinbase destination decides whether Cash App must send on-chain or by Lightning.

  1. 01

Confirm the sender balance is withdrawable Bitcoin.

A displayed Bitcoin balance can still be restricted while funding settles or identity and risk checks remain open. Cash App cash, a linked card and a stock balance are not Bitcoin withdrawals.

  2. 02

Select Bitcoin and the receiving network in Coinbase.

Use the authenticated Coinbase Receive flow. Choose Bitcoin, then choose the ordinary Bitcoin network for an on-chain address or Lightning for a new invoice. Do not use another asset or network.

  3. 03

    Verify destination and ownership.

Copy or scan; do not transcribe. Compare characters, amount and route. If paying someone else, confirm their Coinbase instruction independently. Never accept a replacement destination from unsolicited support.

  4. 04

Review amount, minimum, speed and fee.

Cash App's live screen controls the eligible amount and speed. Standard on-chain and Lightning fee statements are method-specific; priority pricing and network conditions can differ.

  5. 05

    Track one transfer.

Save the Cash App receipt and transaction hash or Lightning result. For on-chain, inspect the block explorer and Coinbase confirmations. Do not retry a broadcast transaction because Coinbase has not yet credited it.

Fee and confirmation boundary

Withdrawal speed and final credit are different clocks.

Cash App release, blockchain confirmation and Coinbase access remain separate.

Cash App quote

Read the chosen method and speed.

Cash App currently states standard-speed on-chain withdrawal is fee-free and completes within twenty-four hours or less, subject to a live minimum. Priority choices can price differently. Lightning is listed without a Cash App network fee. The confirmation screen controls.

Blockchain

Broadcast is not finality.

An on-chain transaction first enters the mempool, then a block. Coinbase's cited confirmation record lists two Bitcoin confirmations for its finality threshold. Congestion and fee selection can delay inclusion; no support agent can create confirmations.

Coinbase credit

Network success can still meet account review.

Coinbase can require identity, address, phone or other account tasks. Reconcile the exact address and network using the transaction hash. A correct blockchain transfer must not be duplicated while the account is processing it.

Irreversibility and protection

Bitcoin transfer risk does not become bank protection.

Block, Inc. provides the cited Cash App Bitcoin service, while Coinbase, Inc. provides the cited Coinbase account context. The route moves Bitcoin between custodial platforms over Bitcoin rails. It is not a bank deposit, card purchase or insured cash transfer.

Cash App warns that virtual-currency transfers can be irreversible and that mistaken or accidental transfers may not be recoverable. Coinbase likewise says it cannot retrieve funds sent through the wrong network. The providers can investigate account records, but they cannot rewrite the Bitcoin ledger or promise recovery.

Cash App cash, Cash Card, Coinbase cash and any eligible pass-through deposit arrangement remain separate from Bitcoin custody. FDIC or SIPC labels must not be applied to the transferred Bitcoin merely because either platform also offers cash, card, securities or bank-partner products.

Pending or missing

Trace the exact route before contacting support.

A second send can turn a delay into a duplicate.

  1. Check Cash App status.Record amount, method, destination, speed, fee, time and transaction hash or Lightning result.
  2. Verify destination and network.Compare the submitted value with the authenticated Coinbase receive screen. Do not edit screenshots or trust a new address from chat.
  3. Inspect confirmations. For on-chain Bitcoin, use the block explorer. Zero confirmations, one confirmation and Coinbase finality are distinct states.
  4. Complete Coinbase tasks.Review account messages for identity or information requests. Submit truthful evidence through the authenticated product.
  5. Escalate without retrying.Give both providers the same hash, amount, time and destination. Wrong-network or wrong-address recovery may be impossible.
No legitimate support agent needs a seed phrase.

Never reveal a private key, approve remote access, pay a recovery deposit or send Bitcoin to “verify” the account. Provider staff cannot reverse the blockchain by moving funds to another address.

Operational states

The checker fails closed across the transfer lifecycle.

Loading, empty, stale, error, review, broadcast, confirming and failed are different.

Loading

Destination or quote unresolved

Wait for the complete asset, network, amount, address or invoice, speed, fee and approval control.

Empty

No eligible Bitcoin send or receive

An absent withdrawal, network or invoice is unavailable. Cash and cards are not a fallback.

Stale

Old address or expired invoice

Regenerate from Coinbase and compare after paste. Never alter an expired invoice.

Error

Route cannot resolve

Do not infer availability, fee, minimum, destination, confirmations or recovery.

Review

Identity or funding check

Wait for settled funding and truthful account verification before withdrawing.

Broadcast

On-chain transaction exists

Preserve the hash and wait for blocks; a broadcast transaction is normally not cancellable.

Confirming

Coinbase finality pending

Track the same transaction through the cited Bitcoin confirmation threshold and account credit.

Failed

Lightning or pre-send failure

Confirm the original balance result, then regenerate any invoice before another attempt.

Evidence ledger

Sender, receiver, network, fee and confirmation records stay separate.

Every material claim retains its publisher and observation date.
