Can you withdraw from Coinbase to Wise?

No direct route is approved. Wise explicitly says it cannot accept payments from Coinbase. Wise USD details may look like ordinary ACH or wire details, but compatible fields do not override a provider-specific source restriction.

Which Coinbase-to-Wise path are you testing?

Sender restriction, rail fields, card credentials, market and reverse direction each need their own evidence state.

Coinbase cash → Wise details

Explicitly unsupported by Wise

Do not enter Wise details as the Coinbase cash-out bank.

Wise explicitly says it cannot accept payments from Coinbase. That provider-specific exclusion overrides the otherwise compatible-looking ACH or domestic-wire fields. Coinbase offering bank cash out and Wise issuing USD account and routing numbers do not create an approved pair.

Exact scope
Direct fiat withdrawal from a Coinbase account to Wise account details in the same or another customer's name.
Evidence state
Wise names Coinbase as a platform whose payments it cannot accept; no approved Coinbase source establishes a Wise exception.
Safe next step
Leave the Wise details unused for this withdrawal and choose only a customer-owned destination Coinbase offers that is not excluded by the receiving provider.

Why the answer is no

A routing number proves a rail, not an allowed sender.

Wise issues eligible customers currency-specific details so people and companies can send bank transfers. For USD, domestic ACH and wire use the holder's exact name, an account number, the rail-specific routing number, checking-account type and the partner institution displayed in Wise. Those details are real receiving instructions, but Wise says they are not a customer-owned bank account and they do not promise acceptance from every platform.

The narrower rule controls here. Wise's incompatible-payments guidance says cryptocurrency-platform receipts are accepted only under limited conditions and then names Binance and Coinbase as examples it cannot accept. Entering the same Wise details into Coinbase does not convert Coinbase into a permitted bank sender. Selecting a partner bank name manually, changing ACH to wire, or omitting the source would misrepresent the payment and can cause rejection, return or account review.

No native Coinbase-to-Wise integration is documented.

The proposed route is not a Wise internal transfer, a Coinbase partnership or a universal bank withdrawal. It is a Coinbase-origin payment aimed at Wise receiving details, and the receiving provider explicitly rejects that origin.

The answer also does not depend on the reverse direction. Wise separately blocks outgoing account transfers to crypto platforms. Forward and reverse are independent rules; both happen to be unsupported under the current evidence. A Wise card can carry different transaction rules, but no approved source establishes a Coinbase cash out to the card.

Safe alternative sequence

A customer bank creates two transfers, not a workaround.

Only final bank credit can become the starting state for a separately permitted Wise payment.

  1. 01

Sell only if cash is needed.

Review the Coinbase asset, order amount, price, spread, fee and tax record. A completed sale creates cash but does not prove withdrawal availability.

  2. 02

    Check available cash.

Separate portfolio value, cash balance and available-to-cash-out amount. Preserve any displayed hold, transfer-protection or review state.

  3. 03

    Choose an owned conventional bank.

Use only a linked, verified account in the Coinbase customer's legal name that Coinbase displays. Do not enter Wise details or another person's account.

  4. 04

    Wait for final bank credit.

Pending Coinbase withdrawal value is not available for a new Wise payment. Reconcile Coinbase and bank references before proceeding.

  5. 05

    Start a new Wise action.

Check that Wise accepts the owned bank, name, funding method, currency and purpose. Review its separate fee, rate, timing and availability before authorizing.

A different routing number or transfer rail cannot cure a provider-level source exclusion.

Fees, timing and returns

An unsupported route has no valid price or arrival estimate.

Only the separate, approved bank legs can show meaningful quotes.

Coinbase stage

Sale and withdrawal remain distinct.

Coinbase can quote the crypto sale and a permitted bank cash out separately. Available balance, destination, fee, limit, business-day estimate and holds control. None of those fields certify Wise acceptance.

Rejected direct attempt

Return timing is conditional.

Wise USD guidance says wrong or unacceptable payments may be rejected and returned. Domestic returns can take working days and the sender must trace through its own provider. No guaranteed return date or fee recovery is asserted.

Separate Wise stage

Use the new transaction quote.

After final credit at an allowed bank, Wise pricing and timing depend on currency, amount, funding rail and destination. The original Coinbase fee is sunk and must not be merged into a fictional direct-route quote.

Entity and account boundary

The partner bank name does not change the Wise customer relationship.

Coinbase, Inc. controls the cited Coinbase US account, sale and cash-out destination list. It can request a customer-owned verified bank and can restrict withdrawals for security, compliance, legal or funding reasons. A Coinbase status of completed reports its own stage, not Wise acceptance.

Wise US Inc. controls the cited Wise US account and acceptable-use decision. Wise may display a partner institution in the receiving instructions, but the customer's account relationship remains with Wise. Selecting that institution in Coinbase must not be used to hide that the destination is a Wise payment facility.

If a payment was already attempted, preserve the Coinbase withdrawal confirmation, Wise rejection or pending notice, amount, currency, routing number, account suffix and timestamps. Contact the provider owning the current stage. Never share passwords, one-time codes, seed phrases or remote access with a recovery agent.

Rejected, returned or under review

Do not retry by changing the payment description.

A truthful trace is safer than a second route with disguised origin or mismatched details.

  1. Stop duplicate attempts.Record whether Coinbase is pending, completed, rejected or returned and whether Wise shows any corresponding item.
  2. Verify the true destination.Compare holder name, ACH or wire routing number, account number, currency and displayed partner bank without modifying origin.
  3. Preserve provider evidence.Save both references, timestamps, amount, fee and any rejection reason. Screenshots do not replace authenticated records.
  4. Trace from the sender. If Coinbase sent value that Wise rejected, request the trace or return status from Coinbase while following Wise's authenticated support notice.
  5. Wait for final return.Do not initiate a replacement withdrawal until the original amount is conclusively credited, rejected or returned.
Do not evade the crypto-platform restriction.

Using another person's account, altering the sender name, routing through a shell payment or misdescribing source of funds can violate provider rules and trigger closure or reporting.

Complete operational states

Unavailable is a valid final state.

Loading, empty, stale, changed-detail, error, review, rejection and return remain distinct.

Loading

Destination list unresolved

Wait for Coinbase's authenticated cash-out methods. Do not paste remembered Wise details.

Empty

No available cash

A crypto holding is not withdrawable cash. Check sale and hold state without assuming a later Wise route.

Unavailable

Direct route remains blocked

The Wise exclusion is sufficient evidence to stop. No alternate routing field changes it.

Stale

Details or policy changed

Recheck both official sources and the authenticated Wise details before any allowed payment.

Review

Compliance information requested

Submit accurate source and ownership evidence once. Do not split or relabel the payment.

Returned

Value is moving back

Track the original sender reference and wait for final credit before choosing a permitted destination.

SRC-COINBASE-US-ACCOUNT-RESTRICTIONS — Coinbase account restrictions and cash withdrawal

Coinbase Help · observed 2026-07-12

  • Coinbase says buying and selling restrictions can still leave cash withdrawal to a linked, verified bank account available, depending on the exact account state.
  • Closed accounts can require remaining cash withdrawal and off-platform crypto transfer while disabling new buys, sells or storage.
  • Court, sanctions, fraud, security or legal restrictions can freeze or delay funds; a generic withdrawal instruction does not override the live restriction or guarantee access timing.
