App collection / Business finance

A business account is not one legal product.

Compare business finance products by the job your company needs to complete, then verify the country, legal entity, account structure and evidence state. A direct bank account, a partner-bank programme, a payment account, a merchant wallet, a corporate card and an investment product cannot share one protection label or one universal verdict.

This collection contains 14 evidence-selected providersacross 14 documented markets. The count describes approved repository records, not the size of the global business-finance market and not a ranking.

Eight operating jobs

The workflow determines the useful shortlist.

These jobs are evidence filters, not promises that every listed provider supports every feature, currency, rail or company type. Open the market record before acting.

01

Domestic checking

Start here when the core need is a local current or demand-deposit account, domestic transfers and ordinary operating balances. Direct banks such as Monzo, N26, bunq, Bank Zero, Capitec, Al Rajhi and Saudi National Bank have different home licences and protection schemes. Bluevine and Mercury instead use named US partner banks. Those models can both serve operating cash, but the contracting party, insurance conditions, eligibility and same-bank aggregation are not interchangeable.

02

Global receiving

Wise, Airwallex and Payoneer publish cross-border receiving workflows for eligible businesses. Receiving details can point to a partner institution or local collection rail without becoming a customer-owned bank account. Check the holder name, supported currency, payer type, business-purpose rule, routing details, conversion path and withdrawal destination. An available balance and a completed incoming payment are also separate operational states.

03

Supplier payments

A supplier payout requires more than a send-money button. Confirm that the business can onboard the recipient, use the required domestic or international rail, send the exact currency and satisfy ownership and purpose checks. ACH, wire, Swift, internal platform payments and card funding can carry different fees, timing, recall rights and failure states. A generic destination account page does not prove a specific provider pair.

04

Checkout and merchant payments

PayPal, Airwallex and Mercado Pago enter this lens through merchant or payment-acceptance records, not through a claim that their wallets are bank deposits. Checkout acceptance, stored balances, settlement, reserves, disputes, seller protection, card processing and credit are separately governed. Country availability for a consumer wallet cannot be copied into merchant acceptance or local acquiring support.

05

Cards and expenses

Business debit, prepaid and charge cards can sit beside an account while using a different issuer or credit structure. Check who issues the card, whether spend draws from a deposit or payment balance, which employee controls exist and how limits, foreign exchange, cash withdrawal and disputes work. Mercury IO remains separate from Mercury deposit accounts; Airwallex and Wise card availability remains market-specific.

06

Cash access

Cash deposits and withdrawals are a local channel question. A direct bank may provide branches, ATMs or partner networks; an online fintech may offer limited cash deposit methods; a payment platform may have no practical cash workflow. Count the actual channel, fee, limit and settlement time. Do not infer cash access from card issuance or from an otherwise complete electronic-payments feature set.

07

Treasury and yield

Interest, sweep programmes, money-market funds and treasury products require their own evidence. Bluevine and Mercury publish conditional sweep structures; Mercury Treasury and Airwallex Yield remain investment products rather than ordinary insured deposits. A headline balance ceiling does not override programme-bank capacity, beneficial-owner records, same-bank aggregation, product eligibility, liquidity or capital-risk terms.

08

Accounting and integrations

Accounting exports, team roles, batch operations and APIs can reduce finance work, but a product-page integration logo is not proof of full workflow compatibility. Verify the market, plan, permission model, data direction, supported accounting edition and current connection status. Integrations do not change who holds funds, who issues a card or whether a payout rail is supported.

Entity structure

Four structures, four different questions.

Provider names are discovery labels. The selected market record supplies the legal and protection context.

direct-bank

The institution takes deposits directly

The licensed bank is the account provider. Eligible deposits may fall within its named home scheme, subject to depositor, product and aggregation rules. A foreign branch, local IBAN or marketing country does not automatically move the deposit into a different scheme. Credit, investments, insurance and crypto remain separate even when the same app displays them.

partner-bank-fintech

The app and account bank are different parties

Bluevine and Mercury provide the software relationship while named banks provide cited deposit accounts. Conditional pass-through or sweep coverage depends on programme records, ownership, eligible balances, programme-bank capacity and aggregation with the customer's other deposits at the same bank. The fintech itself is not rewritten as the insured bank.

payment-platform

Payments utility without a universal bank account

Wise, Airwallex and Payoneer operate under country-specific payment, money-transmission or business-platform arrangements. Safeguarding, guarantees, trust structures and claims on the platform differ by entity. Local receiving details and correspondent banks help route money but do not alone create a direct deposit account for the business.

wallet

Merchant payments and stored value stay distinct

PayPal and Mercado Pago can support business and merchant workflows while their ordinary wallet balances retain payment-account or electronic-money treatment. Named programme-bank, card, credit, return or investment products apply only when their own conditions are met. Linking an external bank does not transfer that bank's protection to the wallet balance.

Publication states

Unknown is a result, not a blank to fill.

The directory preserves the difference between an approved current record, a conditional record and an unavailable or unresolved record. A provider can have more than one state because each market, product and legal entity is evaluated separately.

Current approved

The repository has approved evidence for the displayed market relationship. Product, plan, feature, fee and eligibility details can still require narrower verification.

Conditional or restricted

The product has approved evidence, but customer type, geography, ownership, plan, onboarding, rail, currency or partner conditions control the outcome.

Unavailable or unresolved

The approved record shows market exit, closure, prelaunch, conflicting evidence or a missing entity boundary. It is displayed to prevent an unsafe positive inference.

Stale or source unavailable

A material claim whose approved evidence is no longer current is not silently carried forward. It requires reverification before it can return to a current publication view.

Shortlisting sequence

Run the evidence check in this order.

A useful shortlist is built from constraints, not a universal score. Start with legal availability and only compare convenience after the account, payment and protection models are understood.
