Can you transfer from Airwallex to Wise?

Conditionally, as a bank payment to approved Wise account details.Airwallex can pay an eligible recipient bank account, and Wise USD details can receive specified ACH, domestic-wire or Swift payments. This is not a native Airwallex-to-Wise connection, and the exact recipient, details, rail, currency, purpose and customer approval must pass before money is sent.

Action-specific route check

Which Airwallex-to-Wise action do you mean?

A supplier payment, own-account movement, corporate-card attempt, rail mismatch and reverse transfer have different ownership, approval and receiving rules.

Airwallex balance → Wise USD details

Method-compatible; pair approval required

Use an approved recipient bank payment, not a guessed native connection.

Airwallex supports eligible business payments to an approved recipient bank account. Wise USD account details can receive eligible US ACH or domestic wire payments. Neither provider publishes a blanket Airwallex-to-Wise guarantee, so the current Wise details, recipient ownership, currency, rail, purpose and Airwallex approval must all pass.

Exact scope
United States; business payment from an eligible Airwallex USD balance to the recipient's current Wise USD account details.
Evidence state
Sender and receiver methods are documented independently; exact pair acceptance and customer approval remain conditional.
Safe next step
Copy the recipient's current Wise USD details, add them as an Airwallex recipient, select the matching rail and verify the final fee and delivery estimate before release.

What the conditional answer means

Two compatible method descriptions are not a pair-specific guarantee.

Airwallex documents payments from an eligible balance to a recipient's bank account. Wise documents receiving through currency-specific account details. Those records create a plausible reviewed path: the sender adds the exact details shown inside the recipient's Wise account, Airwallex reviews the recipient bank instruction, and an approved bank transfer travels over the method selected for those details. The route edge is therefore conditional rather than unknown.

The evidence does not show an integration button, shared account network or contract in which Airwallex promises delivery to every Wise account. Airwallex can withhold recipient bank approval, restrict the feature by customer or corridor, request invoices or other purpose evidence, apply a limit, or change the quoted rail. Wise can require current holder and partner-bank details, reject the wrong currency or payment type, review a large or unusual payment, or return a payment it cannot accept.

The Wise details are routing instructions, not proof that Wise is the bank.

Wise can display a partner bank's name and routing information. The recipient's account remains with Wise. Enter the exact current details manually where Airwallex asks for the beneficiary bank; do not replace them with a remembered Wise address or assume one routing number works for ACH, wire and Swift.

This page focuses on a US USD business payment. It does not copy the conclusion to a personal remittance, India automatic settlement, an EU EUR payment, a GBP local payment, a card transaction or the reverse Wise-to-Airwallex direction. Each needs its own entity, rail, currency, account-ownership and evidence check.

Safe setup sequence

Build the route from the recipient's current details outward.

The receiving instructions decide the usable rail. The sending balance, purpose and customer permissions decide whether Airwallex can release it.

  1. 01

Confirm the payment is a permitted business expense.

The reviewed Airwallex feature covers payments such as suppliers, contractors and employees. Preserve the invoice, agreement, recipient relationship and purpose. Do not disguise a personal transfer as a business payment.

  2. 02

Open the recipient's live Wise USD account details.

Record the holder name, account number, account type, ACH or wire routing number and the displayed partner-bank name and address. Use Swift details only when the sender is actually making the outside-US Swift path.

  3. 03

Add a recipient account in Airwallex.

Select the recipient type that truthfully matches the destination owner. Supply accurate contact and bank data. Treat a saved contact as input validation rather than final route approval.

  4. 04

    Match balance, currency and rail.

Use USD for USD account details. Confirm whether Airwallex is sending a US local transfer, domestic wire or Swift payment and compare it with the routing details Wise displayed. Stop when the interface does not offer the matching route.

  5. 05

Review the final quote and recipient result.

Read the Airwallex fee, exchange, amount delivered and estimated date before release. Save the transaction ID and proof. A completed Airwallex status is useful evidence, but the recipient should still confirm that Wise credited the correct currency.

Airwallex lists method-specific flight times and says most transfers arrive the same day, while Wise publishes wider rail-specific receiving windows. Use the slower live estimate and allow for weekends, holidays, review and intermediary handling.

Fee boundary

The sender quote and receiver charge are separate lines.

No single Airwallex-to-Wise percentage applies to every US customer, amount and rail.

Airwallex fee

Read the in-account payment quote.

Airwallex's US pricing page currently lists supported local transfers as free and SWIFT transfers at USD 15 to USD 25. Conversion is separate: the cited page lists a markup of 0.5% over interbank for named major currencies and 1% for other currencies. Plan, receiving, intermediary and customer-specific charges can still be separate, so the final transfer screen controls.

Wise receiving fee

ACH, wire and Swift differ.

Wise currently lists ordinary US ACH receipt to eligible USD details without a Wise receiving fee and lists USD 6.11 for domestic wire or Swift receipt. The sender, Airwallex, intermediary or correspondent can still add charges. A receiving fee does not prove the route is approved, and a free ACH receipt does not eliminate the sender fee.

Conversion

Do not force a currency mismatch.

USD details accept USD. If the Airwallex balance, destination details or route currency do not match, conversion or rejection can occur. Compare the Airwallex debit, conversion rate, fee, Wise credit currency and net recipient amount before confirmation. A nominally cheap rail can be more expensive after conversion or return costs.

Own business versus supplier payment

The recipient identity and real payment purpose must agree.

Airwallex asks whether a transfer recipient is a business or an individual and then collects location-, currency- and method-specific bank fields. Wise USD details display the holder name plus the partner-bank information required for the chosen method. If the destination belongs to the same business, the legal name and actual ownership must remain consistent across both products; a saved recipient is not final route approval.

A payment to a supplier's Wise details uses that supplier's holder name and contact data. A movement to the sender's own Wise Business details uses the sender business's legal identity. Editing the category or beneficiary name to bypass a validation failure can create inconsistent ownership and purpose records. Use the action and recipient that truthfully describe who owns the destination and why the money is moving.

Wise's incompatible-payments guidance also distinguishes adding money or paying for a Wise transfer from receiving money from someone else. Name-matching rules for funding your own Wise activity should not be copied onto a legitimate third-party business receipt, and third-party receiving permission should not be used to fund your own transfer from an unrelated account.

Entity and protection boundary

Neither Airwallex nor Wise becomes the receiving bank printed on the form.

Legal entity, customer balance, receiving details and payment rail remain separate facts.

Sender

Airwallex US, LLC

Airwallex US, LLC is the cited US money-services and money-transmission business, and Airwallex is not a bank. Certain eligible customer funds can use an omnibus account at Evolve under conditional pass-through treatment, but that does not create a blanket insured Airwallex balance or transfer a protection label to Wise.

Recipient account

Wise US Inc.

Wise US Inc. provides the cited US multicurrency payment account. Ordinary funds use Wise's separate cash and secure-liquid-asset model and are not generally FDIC-insured deposits. Eligible interest opt-in remains a separate Program Bank arrangement.

Receiving bank details

Customer-specific partner institution

Wise may display a partner bank's name, address and routing details. That institution processes the receipt; it does not make the Wise balance a conventional account owned by the customer at that bank. The exact displayed details control each payment.

Delayed, rejected or returned

Trace the actual payment; do not send a duplicate.

A route can be method-compatible and still fail at recipient approval, sender review, routing, intermediary processing or Wise credit. The sender and recipient see different systems, so preserve evidence from both.

  1. Check Airwallex status.Record processing, completed or pending-review state, transaction ID, date, amount, reference and estimated deposit date.
  2. Confirm the exact details used.Compare holder name, account number, routing number, bank address, rail and USD currency with the recipient's current Wise screen.
  3. Wait through the relevant rail window.Do not apply ACH timing to a wire or Swift payment. Account for working days, holidays and compliance review.
  4. Obtain proof of payment. The recipient can upload proof to Wise after the estimate passes; Airwallex may need to initiate a bank trace or recall.
  5. Ask Airwallex about a trace or recall.A banking-partner recall is not guaranteed, can carry a fee and can take four to six weeks or longer. Wrong details can instead fail and return through a separate flow.
A completed sender status is not permission to retry.

A second transfer can create a duplicate if the first is delayed rather than failed. Wait for a documented return, trace result or provider instruction. Do not ask support to alter a recipient name or purpose that was inaccurate at submission.

Route states

The same pair can produce conditional, unavailable and unknown answers.

A responsible transaction page needs complete states, not one optimistic tutorial.

Conditional

Recipient bank payment

Airwallex approves the recipient and matching Wise details, the correct USD rail is offered, and both accounts remain eligible.

Unavailable

Feature or rail absent

The customer's Airwallex account does not offer recipient bank payment, the recipient is not approved, or the required ACH, wire or Swift path is missing.

Error

Tool or data failure

NeobankDB shows no inferred answer when its checker cannot resolve a mode. The server-rendered conditional scope and source ledger remain visible.

Stale

Material terms changed

A new Airwallex pricing page, Wise partner bank, route restriction or receiving fee requires re-review before the old detail is used.

Returned

Receiving instruction failed

Wrong details, currency, rail, ownership, address or compliance outcome can return the payment. Return timing is not the original delivery estimate.

Unknown

Reverse or other market

Wise-to-Airwallex, non-US markets and card routes remain unknown until exact directional evidence is approved.

Privacy and fraud boundary

NeobankDB never needs the account details.

Do not paste a Wise account number, routing number, Airwallex transaction ID, invoice, identity document, password, one-time code or support transcript into this site. Check sensitive details only inside the official provider products. This page stores no financial credentials and cannot approve, trace, reverse or recover a payment.

Treat an unexpected request to change beneficiary details, send a test payment, move to a personal account or reveal a verification code as a fraud signal. Independently confirm the recipient through a known channel before editing any payment instruction.

Related evidence

Compare the providers, then inspect the directional edge.

Source ledger

Fourteen records keep sender, recipient, fee, rail and failure claims separate.
